About the Role

As a Mine Geologist you will be responsible for coordinating all geological activities working, collaboratively with other geoscience teams, technical and operational departments. This challenging role offers a diverse range of exposure across the mining value chain and provides the opportunity to contribute to the vast geological understanding of this giant and world-class polymetallic orebody. In this role you will:

  • Log diamond drill core, map underground workings and extract meaningful observations from large datasets to produce sound geological interpretations
  • Engage and collaborate with other planning and technical departments in the delivery of development and stope planning
  • Actively participate in the output of high-quality geological products in the form of geological and structural interpretations
  • Plan underground diamond drilling programs that are safe, efficient and effective in obtaining the right technical information at the right time
  • Evaluate, report and provide information relating to grade controls and material reconciliation assist our planning and execution teams operate effectively
  • Ensure high standards of documentation and clear communication of relevant geological observations and subsequent interpretation

About You

You will be a self-starter who is highly motivated and able to work autonomously. You will be an effective communicator, tailoring your style do deliver important information at different required levels. You will have a good grasp of thinking and problem solving in 3D space, having a background of software exposure to through the likes of Vulcan, Deswick, Leapfrog or similar. Other attributes include:

  • Degree qualified in Geology
  • Hard rock geology experience, preferred but not essential, with an understanding of Mine Geology Operations
  • Demonstrated ability to make sound geological observations utilising large datasets
  • Ability to build rapport and establish productive relationships with a range of stakeholders and internal networks
