About the Goldsworthy regional Rehabilitation team


With rehabilitation rates planned to increase in the Goldsworthy / Yarrie region, we are establishing a core team focussed on facilitating the planning and Supervision of activity. Execution of the rehab activity will be conducted by Traditional Owner contract partners with guidance from the BHP operational team.

About the Role


This role is the key link between our rehabilitation strategy and its execution. You will be primarily responsible for the development of executable work schedules, and related planning documentation, based on the requirements of the rehabilitation strategy. You will also be a key link representing the Operational team in closure study activity and in Life of Asset planning routines.

The successful candidate will gain considerable experience by engaging with internal rehabilitation/closure teams and planning stakeholders across WAIO, as well as external local and indigenous contractors undertaking work packages.

Reporting to the Superintendent Planning and Engagement, the key aspects of the role are:

  • Translation of internally generated rehabilitation scopes of work into executable work packages and planning documentation
  • Provide technical guidance, insight and support that enables the execution of work packages by internal and external parties
  • Monitoring of the execution of work packages with respect to the budget, schedule and quality
  • Engaging internal and external stakeholders as part of a contract development team for Traditional Owner execution contracts.
  • Drafting closure landform design with guidance from the closure team.
  • Representing the Operations team in Closure study engagements
  • Engaging long term planning workgroups when reviewing regional Life of Asset plans

About You

As a successful candidate you will possess the following:

  • Demonstrated experience in mine design and scheduling would be highly desired.
  • Relevant experience with mine rehab design or land formation design.
  • Diverse experience in Mining operations.
  • Strong collaboration and interpersonal skills
  • A desire and ability to work with diverse personnel
  • High proficiency with Microsoft Package; Excel, Powerpoint and Project.
  • While it is not mandatory, experience with Mine Design software skills (Vulcan), will be an advantage.
  • While it is not mandatory, experience with contract development will be an advantage.
  • Educational qualification of Mine Engineering or relevant will be an advantage.
  • Possess valid A-C class drivers licence.

Location


In this part-time role, ideally, you are willing to commit a minimum of 50% FTE work hours and occasionally travel to the site as necessary.

You will be based in Perth, Western Australia, in the multi-award-winning office tower - ‘City Square’. You will have stunning river views from your modern open plan office, state of the art facilities including virtual whiteboards and video conferencing facilities, 550 bicycle racks with ample lockers, showers and change room amenities and a large outdoor terrace with barbecues.
