About the Role


The purpose of this role is to contribute to the advisory, design and evaluation of the installation, operation, maintenance and oversight of water, concrete, earthworks and hydraulic systems.

In this role you will independently apply Engineering-related terminology, theory, and navigate key processes and business activities.

Please note this position is based at Olympic Dam on a roster of 5/2, 4/3, with residential or FIFO options available at Olympic Dam.

Core responsibilities:

  • Assesses change impacts to prepare integrated change management plans, manages change readiness and resistance, and upskills leaders and impacted stakeholders in the adoption and successful delivery of the change.
  • Sources information, plans and conducts analyses to support evidence based decision making.
  • Reviews and verifies engineering designs using applied understanding of design, construction, operation and maintenance requirements and practices.
  • Determines the underlying cause of problems and evaluates multiple solutions to ensure a planned and structured approach to solving complex problems.
  • Identifies risks, makes risk adjusted/informed decisions and implements BHP's risk management framework to support safe and productive performance outcomes.

About You


Ideally you would have Tertiary qualifications in a relevant Engineering discipline(s) (e.g. Civil/Mining), and significant mining industry experience (Open cut/ Underground). Your Geo technical qualification will be highly regarded.

You are able to establish credibility through your strong technical ability, leadership and excellent communication skills.

Your strong stakeholder engagement skills will foster collaborative working relationships across our teams.

You will have the skills and knowledge to provide critical thinking and a solution-focused attitude along with demonstrated leadership capability.

You continuously thrive for continuous improvement and will contribute to the identification, development and implementation of improvement opportunities.
