Our Operations

One of Australia’s largest mines and a complex minerals processing operation, Olympic Dam, is unique in that we produce Copper, Uranium, Gold and Silver. The local township of Roxby Downs is an active and progressive community offering a variety of modern, well equipped housing, educational, health, sporting, leisure, shopping and cultural facilities.

About the role

Reporting directly to the Superintendent Production Execution – Electrorefinery, the purpose of this role is to coordinate production activities based on production and maintenance planning schedules, as well as provide technical support and ensure shift transitions run smoothly.

You will assist with and resolve technical issues support investigations of production issues, subsequently identifying and proposing solutions. You will also be directly involved with material and safety risk work, as well as shutdown execution and ensuring work is performed to a high standard.

While there are no direct reports in this position, the Coordinator will need to step-up into the Superintendent role when required so it is essential you are able to lead a team and actively engage with a range of stakeholders and departments.

Please note this position is based at Olympic Dam, operating on a 8/6 roster, with residential or FIFO to Adelaide options available.

In this role you will:
  • Ensure continuity of production at Olympic Dam through your ability to prioritise safety first, understand and manage risk, and follow a plan to achieve the vision
  • Integrate with Maintenance counterparts to ensure effective, pro-actively planned maintenance
  • Trouble shoot production issues and create response plans
  • Coach Production Execution Metallurgists lift operational discipline within the concentrator
  • Support your Superintendent in creating a culture of care by being a visible safety leader, engaging, developing and influencing your team.

About You

  • Degree qualified in engineering or a relevant discipline desirable
  • Experience with concentrators desirable, however not essential
  • Demonstrated leadership experience with inherent safety leadership embedded in day to day activities
  • Communication skills that promote effective stakeholder relationships across departments
  • A valid manual drivers licence is required
