About the Department

The Financial Crime Risk team is at the leading edge of AML and Financial Crime prevention and detection for the Bendigo and Adelaide Group under the Financial Crime Risk management framework.

About the Team and Role

The Police Liaison Officer is a key role within our Financial Crimes prevention and detection area. In this role you will be responsible for the day to day management of enquiries relating to law enforcement, which includes:

  • The collection, analysis and compiling of evidence in relation to requests for search warrants, name searches and CCTV footage
  • The preparation and presentation of documents in court when required by law enforcement
  • Liaising with and maintaining relationships with other financial institutions, law enforcement agencies and internal business units to ensure effective identification and resolution of issues

We have 1 permanent position and two 12 month positions available. Location is flexible, noting that hybrid ways of working are core to how we operate today. Flexible work options, including a flexi-day once a fortnight is also available. Occasional intra and interstate travel may be required.

This small close-knit team is growing and an ideal step into the Financial Crimes area where you will gain skills, knowledge and experience for broader career opportunities in the Financial Risk Department.

Skills, Experience and Qualifications

  • Strong attention to detail, quality and accuracy
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively manage varied workloads, priorities and pressures
  • An advanced level of computing skills and ability to quickly learn new systems
  • Ability to locate and prepare documentation and evidence to further support police investigations
  • Capable of being self-managed and working under minimal supervision to deliver quality results
  • Ability to collaborate across the broader team
  • Working knowledge of processes, procedures and systems in financial institutions an advantage
  • Exposure to Financial Crimes detection systems is desirable
