Your new role
As Category Manager - Technology, you will play a pivotal role in delivering strategic procurement outcomes across technology related categories. You’ll act as a trusted advisor to internal stakeholders, providing expert guidance on all aspects of category management including sourcing strategy, negotiation, contract management, and supplier relationship development. Your ability to navigate complex commercial environments will be critical in driving best-value outcomes for the business.
You’ll lead end-to-end procurement activities, including market engagement and contract execution, while managing cross-functional teams to ensure initiatives are delivered successfully. Strong negotiation skills will be key as you manage new or evolving business requirements, resolve supplier issues, and optimise agreements to meet operational and strategic goals.
A core part of your role will be to develop and implement contract and supplier relationship management plans that encourage innovation and continuous improvement. You’ll ensure compliance with procurement policies and risk frameworks, while also identifying opportunities to apply best practice and improve commercial performance.
Collaboration is central to success in this role. You’ll work closely with stakeholders, subject matter experts, and suppliers to plan and deliver new procurement initiatives, embedding them into the business with minimal disruption. You’ll also support change management efforts, particularly where new systems or technologies are introduced, ensuring successful adoption and implementation.
In addition to driving operational efficiency, you’ll stay informed on market trends and supply dynamics, proactively advising the business on potential risks and mitigation strategies. Your ability to provide clear and timely updates, report on procurement benefits, and track project milestones will support informed decision-making and ensure alignment with business priorities.
