Your new role
Are you a dynamic leader with a passion for engineering and fleet management? Join Ausgrid as our Fleet Mechanical Engineering Lead, where you will play a pivotal role in ensuring our fleet's safety, reliability, sustainability, and affordability.
This role will see you reporting to the Fleet Engineering and Strategy Manager, you will lead a dedicated team of 3 professionals who are coordinating and delivering technical activities to optimise fleet performance. You will:
- Leadership & Team Management: Guide your team to success with strong leadership, coaching, and mentoring.
- Technical Excellence: Oversee engineering and technical activities, manage projects from planning to delivery, and ensure compliance with standards and legislation.
- Stakeholder Collaboration: Liaise with internal and external stakeholders to ensure effective service delivery and execution of work.
- Project Management: Handle the financial and commercial aspects of programs and projects, preparing documentation, and conducting inspections and risk assessments.
- Operational Efficiency: Utilise specialised design software, perform data analysis, and manage resources effectively.

- Demonstrated experience and technical expertise gained in an engineering role within the mechanical discipline or related industry.
- Advanced Diploma/Degree in a mechanical or mechatronic engineering.
- Vehicle engineering experience (5-10 years)
- Demonstrated leadership experience
- Class C Drivers Licence.
- Experience in undertaking or managing multiple tasks and / or projects and prioritising activities, with capability to complete both written and system-based project / work activity documentation.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills, and interpersonal skills.
- Demonstrated experience working within a team environment to effectively deliver projects or work outcomes within appropriate time frames and costs.
- Demonstrated experience liaising with a variety of stakeholders, including the resolution of complaints / issues.
- Advanced computer skills with experience in a variety of software packages, tools, hardware or general applications.
