Joining our dynamic Transmission Substations North team, you will provide support in the operation, maintenance and commissioning of zone and sub-transmission substations and intelligent distribution assets in the Hunter and Central Coast areas.
Your new role
Join us to support and optimise the performance and reliability of the organisations network.
Reporting to the Operational Engineering Manager, the successful candidate will provide support in the operation, maintenance and commissioning of zone and sub-transmission substations and intelligent distribution assets.
Responsibilities including but not limited to:
- Project management of zone and sub-transmission construction/replacement works meeting time cost & quality constraints.
- Review and setting of 11kV protection systems
- Commissioning and engineering support for field-based crews in protection, voltage regulation and telecontrol systems
- Perform project design / engineering scoping & development, including section labour estimates and timelines, to meet project outcomes as specified in Client Briefs.
- Provide design and engineering support through project construction and operational phases.

- Bachelor of Engineering Degree (Electrical) giving entitlement to full membership of Engineers Australia.
- Well developed knowledge of the electrical distribution and sub-transmission system covering the design, construction, maintenance and operation of substations with particular focus in substation secondary and high voltage systems.
- Experience in the application of electrical design principles particularly in the field of substation and equipment layout and high voltage systems. This includes sound knowledge of relevant Australian and industry standards.
- Superior conceptual and analytical skills with the demonstrated ability to problem solve and document solutions.
- Ability to form and participate in cross and multi-functional teams focused on problem solving, innovation and project execution.
- Able to interpret design drawings from other disciplines such as Civil, Structural and Secondary Systems.
- Experience in studies, investigations, reporting, analysis and / or risk assessment relevant to the electrical network.
