Our Safety Delivery & Operations group is focussed on delivering a safe and reliable electricity network 24/7 and play a major role in building and maintaining Ausgrid’s network.

Your new role

Reporting to the Field Supervisor, the cable jointer will be primarily involved in the construction, repair, maintenance to ensure the safety, reliability, sustainability and affordability for customers of our underground network assets.

Energise us through your skills and qualifications in:

  • Qualified Cable Jointer – Cert III in ESI Power Systems (or equivalent).
  • Proven experience in an electrical trade role within the electricity distribution or relevant industry including experience in jointing.
  • Class C drivers licence.
  • Electrical Safety Rules accreditation and other relevant statutory training.
  • Sound knowledge of relevant statutes, regulations, and procedures such as safe working practices, network standards and codes of practice.
  • WH&S WorkCover – General Induction.
  • Confined Space Training.
  • Asbestos awareness and experience working safely with asbestos materials related to cable jointing.
  • Demonstrated experience in the application of safe manual handling techniques.
  • Basic skills in the use of computers and mobile devices Demonstrated experience in effectively communicating with others, including customers.
  • Proven capability to work effectively within a team or work crew.
