Energise your career as part of the Field Operations Group in a pivotal role, ensuring the safety and reliability of our network for our customers. Reporting to the Field Supervisor of our Muswellbrook area, you will join a collaborative team of 19, made up of Distribution and Overhead Lineworkers, working with and supporting the various trades across the team.

Your new role

Field Operations play a vital role in constructing and maintaining Ausgrid's network and is committed to delivering a safe and reliable 24/7 service to our customers. The ESO’s role is to ensure the sustainable operation of the electricity network by providing general services to support the construction, maintenance and breakdown work of the organisation’s property and network assets. You will prepare work sites and equipment to enable the wider team to perform safe completion of works, participating in emergency restoration work, safely operating plant, machinery, equipment and vehicles and acting as a safety observer for activities on or around the network.

Energise us through your skills and qualifications in:

  • Class MR drivers licence
  • Sound knowledge of relevant statutes, regulations and procedures such as safe working practices, network standards and codes of practice
  • High Risk Work Licences (HRWL) – multiple eg dogging, forklift, mobile crane
  • WH&S WorkCover – General Induction
  • Demonstrated experience in the operation of plant and equipment
  • Competence in the use of various hand, power operated and specialised tools
  • Asbestos awareness and understanding of how to work safely with asbestos materials
  • Demonstrated experience in the application of safe manual handling techniques
  • Basic skills in the use of computers and mobile devices
  • Demonstrated experience in effectively communicating with others
  • Competency in use of various hand, power operated and specialised tool

Desirable:

  • Class MR/HR/HC drivers licence
  • Confined Space Training
  • RMS Traffic Controller – Level 1 & 2
  • Competence in chainsaw operation and tree trimming
  • Competence in pole handling and erection
  • Knowledge of NECF processes and requirements for notifying customers
  • Competency in operating wire winder
