Just imagine a future where households and businesses can generate their own energy and sell it back to the grid, ultimately connecting communities and empowering lives. Are you ready to play your part in an evolving industry?
Ausgrid is on an exciting transformation journey and now is the time to be a part of something big. We are proud to service Australia’s east coast, as a leading business in energy distribution, delivering a safe and reliable electricity supply to more than 1.8 million homes – that’s over four million Australians relying on us every day.
Our vision is simple; for our communities to have the power for a resilient, affordable net zero future.
We take pride in knowing that the work we collectively achieve today, will transform the world tomorrow. We value a culture of working and living safely, being customer focussed, commercially minded, collaborative, honest, accountable, and respectful. Our values are not just initiatives driven by leaders; they define the way we work.
Meet our team!
In a world where you spend more hours per week with your work colleagues than your family, it is important to us that you enjoy the team you are in!
Energise your career as part of the critical Emergency Services team for our North Sydney region, playing a pivotal part in ensuring the safety and reliability of our network for our customers. In collaboration with the wider team of 30 EMSO’s, you will support the function on a 24/7, 12 hour shift roster, rotating on a 15 week cycle.
Your new role
Reporting to EMSO Field Manager, the Emergency Services Officer (EMSO) provides emergency response and diagnostic services by responding to network incidents such as storms and bush fires, prioritising jobs to ensure maximum productivity and utilisation, undertaking investigations, preparing associated reports and assisting emergency services and regulatory departments for incidents such as electric shock, fire damage or other electrical incidents.
Your responsibility is to provide safe and timely emergency response at domestic, commercial and industrial premises to meet organisational network service standards, identifying non-conformance in customer installations and completing associated reporting, LC schedules, channel allocations and time switches. You will liaise with other areas across the organisation in investigating and rectifying system faults and effectively communicating with internal and external stakeholders such as customers and contractors.
There may be some requirements to coach and mentor apprentices or other less experienced employees within the wider team and provide technical advice to others such as employees, other work groups and contractors. It will be your responsibility to coordinate the resolution of routine customer complaints and to work with your leader on the resolution of more complex cases.
Given the nature of the 24/7 shift roster and rotating cycle, additional shift allowances on top of a competitive base salary is rewarded, as well as additional overtime availability.
Spark our interest!
