What you'll be doing
As the Ausgrid Corporate Communications Lead, reporting to the Corporate Communications Manager, you will lead and deliver project communication plans aligned with Ausgrid’s purpose, values, and vision, and develop internal key relationships to provide effective strategic communications advice and support.
Your position will include, but not be limited to:
- Advising on a broad range of communication services including corporate communications, internal communications, customer information, issues management and digital strategies.
- Initiating and leading Ausgrid-wide corporate communications projects, programs, events, and initiatives that link to corporate objectives. This includes responsibility for identifying relevant audiences and the best channels for reaching those audiences, delivering key business messages, and implementing by deadlines.
- Proactively seeking out stories and developing content to use across internal and external communication channels including the Ausgrid website, media, and social media. This may include preparation and writing of materials including presentations, customer letters, articles for Weekly Broadcast, CEO updates, General Manager updates, team briefs and corporate publications.
- Provide internal communications-related advice and solutions to business and crisis issues.
- Manage sections of the Ausgrid intranet and other channels by generating content and extending support to other users when required to add content.
- Foster and maintain strong professional working relationships internally with Executive and senior management and other stakeholders to deliver seamless integration of communications across all channels and platforms.
What you'll need to be successful in this role
- Degree in Communications, or equivalent extensive experience.
- High-level written communication skills, including advanced writing and editing skills.
- Demonstrated project and event management skills.
- Demonstrated experience in managing change projects within a large complex organisation.
- Demonstrated communication and interpersonal skills to engage stakeholders, and influence and build and maintain relationships with senior managers and project managers.
- Ability to use audio-visual and emerging trends and technologies to ensure stakeholder requirements are met and/or exceeded.
- Sound strategic thinking, planning, analytical and problem-solving skills and the ability to apply them in the context of many competing priorities.
