About the role:
The Regional Operations Manager is a key leadership position in Aurizon’s Central Queensland operations and leads a team of frontline leaders to deliver reliable, safe and cost-effective delivery of train services to our valued customers. Your primary responsibilities will include, but not limited to:
- Leading and implementing plans to sustain a safety based culture.
- Actively managing people performance to drive a high level of technical and leadership capability
- Working collaboratively across the broader region and contributing to the development of operational strategies and plans to optimise service delivery for our customers
- Managing the operating budget for the region
- Identifying opportunities for continuous improvement and implementing plans to effectively address these opportunities.
- Leading the team to set levels of active crewing for the provision of rostering and scheduling services.
About you:
- Demonstrated safety leadership is what will set you apart from other candidates
- Proven experience in leading and coaching front line leaders
- Enthusiasm for the development of frontline operational teams
- Relevant tertiary qualifications in Business or supply chain would be well regarded
- You have previous experience in a large scale logistics or heavy industrial organisation, ideally in Rail Operations
- You bring a minimum 5 years’ experience in an Operational Management role
- You are able to demonstrate exceptional stakeholder management, communication and negotiation skills with the ability to influence others and engage with a diverse range of people
- You have effective business acumen, strategic thinking and business planning skills
