The Opportunity

We now have a permanent opportunity available for a Project Delivery Technician to join our Operations & Maintenance team in Western Australia (FIFO to various site locations). FIFO roster point of hire is Perth.

Reporting to the Team Leader Project Delivery, you will play a key role in ensuring the safe and efficient delivery of major maintenance and pipeline projects within APAs gas transmission systems. Some of the current areas of responsibility for this team include – gas turbine major maintenance and exchange projects, pipeline integrity inspections (Pigging) projects, pressurised equipment integrity and compliance inspection projects, and both greenfield and brownfields construction and commissioning.

Primarily acting as the onsite Permit Issuing Officer (PIO), and working closely with the Pipelines and Major Maintenance Teams, you will assist in carrying out a range of tasks including equipment isolation, job planning and coordination, and the supervising of daily activity of the work crew.

Your dedication and strong leadership skills will allow you to build relationships and direct a team ensuring compliance with internal, client and legislative HSE requirements as well as working with internal and external stakeholders to ensure production requirements are achieved.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform the onsite role of PIO while providing site supervision and technical guidance on a variety of major maintenance projects throughout the state.
  • Assist in the development of project scope, schedule and supporting documents such as Work Instructions, Isolation Plans and HSE Plans.
  • Liaise with internal and external stakeholders by providing reporting on project schedule and outcomes as required.
  • Carry out other operational maintenance activities as required.

Your Background

  • Trade Qualification / Certificate for specialised discipline
  • Previous maintenance experience in Upstream, Midstream or Downstream Oil and Gas Production; or similar industries
  • Previous experience implementing or working within Permit to Work Systems and Lock Out Tag Out systems of equipment isolation.
  • Previous experience in process operation, with a knowledge of rotating machinery, heat exchangers, and internal pipeline inspections an advantage.
  • Strong leadership and interpersonal skills with experience in effective planning, scheduling, and management of multidisciplinary work crews.
  • Competent and efficient use of software-based project management tools and other computer systems.
  • Drivers License and the ability to travel and work remotely for extended periods.

About the Team

Due to growth, there is a rare opportunity to join the Operations and Maintenance, Project Delivery team.

This group comprises of a small yet agile team who work across Western Australia, travelling as far as Port Headland to Kalgoorlie and everywhere in between.

The crew is made up of multidiscipline experienced Technicians and we are excited to welcome a new person into the Ranks.
