WHO WE ARE

At AngloGold Ashanti, we pride ourselves on having a collaborative workplace that is focused on providing a safe and inclusive environment for all. We want to create an environment where people feel comfortable to bring their whole, authentic self to work and feel safe, respected, and valued while doing so.

AngloGold Ashanti is one of the world's largest gold producers with operations and projects spanning across four continents. Our globally diverse, world-class portfolio is supported by focused exploration in the established and new gold producing regions of the world. We offer a working environment that allows every employee to contribute, learn and flourish.

In Australia we own and manage the Sunrise Dam Gold Mine, and the Tropicana Gold Mine (70% AGA owned 30% Regis Resources). These are two of Western Australia’s premier gold operations, with ongoing investment and exploration taking place across both open pit and underground operations at each site.

OUR VALUES

Our six refreshed values are at the heart of our improved culture, serving as a guide to our behaviour in the way we interact with each other, our environment, as well as our neighbours and stakeholders.

DIVERSITY, EQUITY, AND INCLUSION

At AngloGold Ashanti Australia, we believe that we cannot truly value the diversity of our employees without providing an inclusive and equitable workplace where all employees are able contribute their best. The AngloGold Ashanti Australia Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) Committee was established in 2019, a focus which was strengthened by the launch of the AGA DEI Strategy, and a dedicated DEI role was established in the Australian region. We are committed to creating an inclusive workplace that is physically and psychologically safe for all, where everyone can thrive.

Our DEI initiatives intersect with every area of the business. Key achievements include establishment of Employee Resource Groups - such as OurPride@AGAA, SDGM UG Women's Network, and Sport & Fitness @ AGAA; expansion of Parental Leave entitlements; new inclusive PPE options; the AGAA Menopause, Menstruation and Assisted Reproductive Treatment Guideline; independent accreditation as a Menopause Friendly Employer; and the AGAA Gender Affirmation Guideline.

AGAA has found that one of the best ways we can build and inclusive workplace is finding the right partnerships - where we can leverage expertise, best practice, and lived experience. We are proud to partner with organisations such as Work180, Menopause Friendly Australia, and PrideInDiversity.

WELLBEING

AGAA has adopted a holistic approach to Wellbeing in our workplaces. We are committed to reducing the risk of incident, injury, or adverse long-term health due to psychosocial risk factors and have a range of programmes in place to promote thriving, supported by a comprehensive Wellbeing Strategy

COMMUNITY

For almost two decades AGAA has actively supported education, youth, community development and health programmes in communities across the Western Australian goldfields, from Laverton to Kalgoorlie-Boulder and beyond, including the remote Aboriginal community of Tjuntjuntjara.

Supporting education programmes at Eastern Goldfields College, Kalgoorlie-Boulder Community High School and John Paul College remains a strong focus. Education and employment initiatives are also delivered through long-term partnerships with indigenous academies: Kalgoorlie Clontarf Academy, the Kalgoorlie Girls Academy and the Graham Farmer Follow the Dream Programme. Along with annual funding support for these organisations, AngloGold Ashanti Australia offers mine site tours, exposure to a wide variety of careers in the mining industry and a transition-to-work programme.

Through its membership of the Gold Industry Group, the company supports the Shooting Stars Netball programme for indigenous girls and our employees facilitate delivery of the GIG National Gold Education Programme in schools.

AGAA also supports a ‘Think Local, Buy Local and Employ Local’ strategy to promote business opportunities and the growth of local supply networks.
