About the role
A rare opportunity to join our Future Energy (FE) team and lead the divisional Accounting and Reporting function.
Reporting to the Head of Finance within FE, you will have oversight for business planning, budgeting, forecasting and management reporting. This role will be crucial in providing leadership support and key short term succession capability.
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure FE finance and reporting activities are in line with industry and accounting standards best practice
- Manage the on time and accurate delivery of accounting and management reporting for monthly actuals and forecast, including P&L, cashflow, and balance sheet for an efficient end-to-end process.
- Own the FE general ledger financial recording and reporting structure, in conjunction with Group Finance
- Lead financial governance, develop and maintain policies and procedures and align to Ampol group policies and processes.
- Develop and drive continuous improvement in reporting process and outputs
- Lead a high-performing team to provide accounting and reporting support
About you
You will have strong technical, analytical and communication skills with the ability to manage relationships with stakeholders at various levels. You will have a passion for working with the business to ensure we have best practice accounting standards and are meeting strategic objectives. As a leader, you will be able to uplift the team and provide ongoing support and development.
Key skills and experience
- CA or CPA qualified
- Extensive experience in managing an accounting/reporting/finance team
- Experience either from Big 4 or in leading financial reporting functions in an ASX listed company (ideally in energy or electricity)
- Advanced ability to apply accounting technical skills in a commercial and practical manner
- Demonstrated track record in dealing with complex accounting transactions and problem solving
- Proven leadership capabilities, including coaching and team building for a professional finance team
- Proven track record of delivering above expectations in fast moving, complex environments aware of short- and long-term commercial implications of decisions
