About The Role:
We are currently seeking a Head of Project Development to join our Asset Strategy team, reporting to the General Manager. The main responsibilities are to lead and manager key project development activities and to identify & develop business cases for significant capital projects.
As Head of Project Development, you will play a pivotal role in shaping Alinta Energy’s decarbonisation strategy and the future of Alinta Energy’s energy and storage investments. Your expertise will be crucial in identifying, developing, and executing investment cases for significant capital projects. You will oversee all project stages, from planning, permitting, engineering and procurement to safety and delivery, while ensuring adherence to budget and schedule requirements. Your leadership will guide development engineers, consultants and contractors to bring projects to successful completion.
Duties:
- Drive projects through their lifecycle, ensuring seamless progression from the final investment decision to construction delivery, ultimately leading to successful commercial operations and a seamless project handover.
- Skilfully identify, thoroughly assess, and effectively manage a spectrum of project, community, and environmental risks.
- Manage all project stakeholders, including contractors, suppliers, communities, regulators, network service providers and internal project teams.
- Present project investment opportunities and development status to the Board.
- Engage actively in the development and implementation of multifaceted project strategies, encompassing vital aspects such as safety protocols, community engagement, procurement strategies and contracting, grid integration and connection.
Skills & Experience:
- Possess a bachelor’s degree in mechanical, electrical, or civil engineering, demonstrating your foundational technical education.
- Extensive technical, analytical and commercial experience in leading the development of large scale energy infrastructure projects ($300M+)
- Significant experience in directly negotiating major EPC project construction contracts.
- Shine a light on your hands-on involvement in the grand stages of major project development, construction and commissioning, underlining your holistic project expertise.
