About The Role:
We are currently seeking a Microgrid Project Development Manager to join our New Markets team reporting to the Head of Microgrid Development. This is a full-time, permanent role to be ideally based in Melbourne with some travel required. The role will develop customer focussed opportunities on grid-connected microgrids and large distributed generation projects for Mining, Manufacturing and Industrial users of energy. These ‘Energy as a Service’ projects will be funded, owned and operated by Alinta Energy.
Duties:
- Identify and originate microgrid project opportunities with customers that are aligned with Alinta priorities.
- Oversee all aspects of microgrid, onsite energy generation, battery storage and demand response project development including hands on development of project opportunities, proposals, tender submissions and managing all aspects of the process through to Final Project Investment Decision.
- Engage and manage clients with key Alinta relationship managers and/or have direct relationship with large corporate executive and management to identify, qualify, validate and develop microgrid, distributed energy, and/or demand response project opportunities.
- Build productive internal and external relationships to facilitate the delivery of business outcomes.
Skills & Experience:
- Demonstrated successful origination, business development, project development through to Financial Investment Decisions for EaaS and/or Capex Microgrid projects for mining and large manufacturing and industrial customers.
- Extensive experience developing proposals, tender submissions, negotiating and executing contracts and managing counterparty relationships.
- Understanding of what makes a microgrid project feasible and ability to identify and scope opportunities, articulate benefits, identify risks and mitigation measures.
- Strong stakeholder management skills and an ability to manage numerous projects and relationships simultaneously.
- Demonstrated successful engagement and influence with senior executives at large ASX200 companies including CFO’s and COO’s and senior management project sponsors across mining, manufacturing and industrial clients and have an extensive network across potential customers.
