About the role

Be at the centre of Alinta Energy’s transition to renewable energy in this key role reporting to the CIO. Working as the interface between Technology and the Trading & Portfolio Management (TPM) and Power Generation & Development (PG&D) business units, you will ensure a clear and shared vision and roadmap of future state where we utilise the latest technology to deliver world class projects that maintain Alinta Energy as a leader in technology and energy transformation.

We support the development of renewable energy generation and offer local customer service through support hubs in Perth, Western Australia, and Morwell in Victoria.

Responsibilities include:

  • Lead the evolution of our Technology Strategy by advocating for innovations in digital, AI and robotics
  • Manage a complex portfolio of strategic and regulatory-driven projects for our Power Generation business
  • Define Technology initiatives and roadmap for transformation in partnership with senior business stakeholders
  • Lead and develop an established team of high-performing product managers, architects and software engineers.
  • Enhance technology controls that maintain Alinta Energy’s compliance with key regulatory obligations

Skills and experience:

  • Extensive leadership experience in medium to large organisations in the energy and/or utilities sector
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills and the ability to develop and engage cross functional teams and deliver outcomes across a matrix organisational structure.
  • Experience interacting with and influencing senior executives to achieve business outcomes
  • A pro-active and engaging approach with a focus on innovation and delivery
  • Portfolio management and governance skills to prioritise decision making including capital investment.
  • Experience with Energy Trading and Risk Management (ETRM) systems
