We have an exciting opportunity at Alcoa's Kwinana Refinery for a Process Co-Ordinator to join our technical department, working on a 12-hour shift rotation.
The process coordinator is accountable for the continuous optimisation of refinery process conditions to maximise production and minimise raw materials' usage, on a 24-hour basis. This must be done within the constraints imposed by environmental and safety requirements, and equipment availability.
The role is directly supervised by the Senior Chemical Engineer, who provides overall direction and prioritises the incumbent’s work. The principal challenge of the position is to select a set of practical process control parameters which will result in the optimum performance of the plant, with minimum overall production costs, acceptable product quality, and consistent with safety and environment goals.
In this role you will:
Coordinate with Operating Area Supervisors & Control Rooms to maximise flow to plant flow bottlenecks and maximise yield.
Prioritise allocation of maintenance and other available resources
Be accountable for controlling bauxite addition to the refinery and managing overall plant liquor volume.
Highlight key plant production issues and report on shift performance
